Gazelle Storage Solution
It's a common sight at the European train stations: bicycles with the chain locks stored around the seatpost. Being aware of this 'issue', the well known Dutch Royal Gazelle bicycle manufacturer came up with the task of finding a proper way to store your chain lock on the bicycle.
Besides the analysis of the common ways of storing the chain lock, it was also important to get the Gazelle brand/identity/vision right.
After this short but intensive analysation fase, I continued to the ideation in which I took lots of things to account as for example the most practical place to store the lock. The storage solution was meant for the whole Gazelle Orange line-up, including the E-bikes.
When making the concept we also had to focus on the makeability of the product and of course the brand identity. As seen below all the CAD models where 'draft included' and detailed. The most bottom right picture is the final product concept.
